Nicky’s initial interest in sports massage developed from being a professional sports woman for many years, riding and competing in dressage at advanced level.
This gives her a personal insight into the physical demands that sport puts on the body. She also strongly feels that mental preparation and focus are important and these are very much a part of her work.
Her experience with professional sports people has been working with the local rugby 1st team, triathlons, swimming galas and the London marathon.
Sports massage can also be used for many other repetitive strain injuries that are not necessarily sports related.
Nicky is a member of the FHT (Federation of holistic therapists), she trained for 2 years at Hereford College doing her Anatomy & Physiology diploma and Swedish Massage, and then trained for another year at Gloucester College doing her Sports massage diploma.
She has also done a course on Chinese remedial massage at Malvern College and regularly partakes in advanced sports massage courses, keeping up to date with all the new techniques and the changes in training methods.
In 2013 Nicky completed a Level 3 Matwork Pilates Teaching diploma & a Diploma in Exercise, Fitness & Health.
